Christy and Eoghan O'Neill performing on The Musicians' Hour

In January, I was delighted to have the opportunity to interview Dungarvan based publicans and musicians Eoghan and Christy O'Neill, the father and son team behind The Marine Bar in Pulla, Dungarvan, when they came into the CRY104fm studios to record Episode 10 of 'The Musicians' Hour' with me, Jo Bell.

Christy is part of The Blackwater Band, who play gigs in The Marine Bar and all over the world. They can often be found playing in Germany, and their CDs are available to purchase direct from The Marine Bar itself.

Eoghan plays gigs across West Waterford, in The Marine Bar, and around the world with Ad Hoc.

We had a wonderful chat about Eoghan and Christy's background in music, their encounters with The Clancy Brothers, as well as the performances they do in The Marine Bar and around the local area, and beyond.

In addition to all this, we listened to some music from other artists, and we talked about how those musicians have inspired them, their own live performances, and how their pub has given musicians across Co. Waterford the confidence to perform in public. Throughout the show, Eoghan and Christy sang a number of their favourite songs live in the studio. It was a really interesting and entertaining show and I have to say I really enjoyed chatting to them and listening to their fantastic performances.
